Employment Opportunities in the Eastern Oklahoma District Library System

Full-time Position: Business Manager - Eastern Oklahoma District Library System, Muskogee OK

Manages accounting operations and maintains the automated accounting system; records and reports on revenue received, expenditures and fixed assets; creates financial statements; invests System revenue; interacts with auditor and bank employees; prepares payroll for System employees and oversees insurance and retirement enrollments.

Qualifications: BA/BS and three to five years of related experience. Demonstrated performance in a management position.

Duties: Include preparing financial reports for the Board, Executive Director, and Managers; creating journal entries; balancing library checking account; maintaining accounts payable system; managing System investments; managing library fixed assets.

Beginning salary $38,500 plus excellent benefits. 40 hours per week.

Full-time Position: Shared Library Branch Manager - Rieger Memorial Library and Warner Public Library

Manages and administers the operation and staff of two branches – one in Haskell, one in Warner. Ensures outstanding customer service is provided to all patrons; serves as an advocate and spokesperson for the branch and the System in the communities.

Qualifications: MLS/MLIS; or BA/BS and five or more years related library experience; and experience developing programs for library users of all ages. Demonstrated performance in a management position and library coursework.

Duties: Include managing the library buildings, staff, and collections using professional principles of the library field. Manager will oversee the successful long term and daily operation of the libraries including awareness and use of the library facility, staff supervision and training, financial transactions and successful development of good relationships with governmental officials, library friends and volunteers.

Beginning salary $38,500 plus excellent benefits. 40 hrs. per week, 20 in Haskell, 20 in Warner; includes some evenings and Saturdays.

Part-time Position: Library Assistant - Kansas Public Library, Kansas OK

Qualifications: Associates Degree or two years of college. Two years of related library experience. Computer and social networking experience required.

Duties: Provide high level customer service, perform a variety of tasks including reference, reader’s advisory, programming, and outreach. Other duties as assigned.

$12.20 per hour. 15-18 hours per week, includes some evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Computer and social media experience required. Library experience preferred as well as experience working with the public.

Duties: Include circulating material on the automated checkout system, processing and shelving books, assisting patrons, and assisting with library programs.

$9.00 per hour. 15-18 hours per week, includes some evenings and Saturdays.

Part-time Temporary Position: Library Clerk - Eufaula Memorial Library, Eufaula OK

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Computer experience required. Library experience preferred as well as experience working with the public.

Duties: Include answering the phone and greeting visitors, circulating materials using the automated checkout system, shelving books, assisting patrons, setting up for programs, and operating a cash register.

$9.00 per hour. 15-18 hours per week, includes some evenings and Saturdays.
