Community Vision
Statement
Eufaula is a community that will benefit from new industry
where all citizens will be able to work for a decent wage, enabling families to
stay in Eufaula where shopping is plentiful; healthcare and recreational needs
are met; and educational needs are met with a local college branch and the
upgraded and expanded library.
Eufaula Memorial Library strives to connect the public to the online
world.
Service Response
Connect to the
Online World: “Residents will
have high-speed access to the digital world with no unnecessary restrictions or
fees to ensure that everyone can take advantage of the ever-growing resources
and services available through the Internet.”
Goal 1: All residents of Eufaula Memorial Library’s
service area will have high-speed access to the Internet.
Objective 1: Each year of the planning cycle, patron surveys will show a 30% increase in users' satisfaction with the internet speed provided by the library.
Objective 2: The number of people who use the wireless connectivity provided by the library will increase by 5% each year.
Goal 2: All residents of Eufaula Memorial Library’s service
area will have access to updated computers, software, and programs.
Objective 1: Each year of the planning cycle, 80% of patrons surveyed will indicate their satisfaction with library computer equipment.
Objective 2: The number of computers available for users will increase by 50% by the end of the planning cycle.
Objective 3: The number of one-hour computer uses will increase by 5% per year.
Goal 3: All residents of Eufaula Memorial Library’s
service area will benefit from a mobile classroom of laptop computers.
Objective 1: The number of people attending classes will increase by 10% each year.
Objective 2: The number of classes offered will increase by 10% each year.
Goal 4: All residents of Eufaula Memorial Library’s
service area will have the opportunity to attend computer classes to learn
about computer hardware, utilizing knowledgeable volunteers of all ages as well
as staff members who have been appropriately trained.
Objective 1: The number of people attending classes will increase by 5% each year.
Objective 2: At least 90% of class attendees will indicate on a survey that their knowledge about computer hardware has improved.
Goal 5: All residents of Eufaula Memorial Library’s
service area will have the opportunity to attend computer classes to learn
about Basic Internet, utilizing knowledgeable
volunteers of all ages as well as staff members who have been appropriately
trained.
Objective 1: The number of people attending classes will increase by 5% each year.
Objective 2: At least 90% of class attendees will indicate on a survey that their knowledge of the internet has improved.
Objective 3: The number of computer hardware and software manuals in the library’s collection will increase by 5% each year of the planning cycle.
Goal 6: All residents of Eufaula Memorial Library’s
service area will have the opportunity to attend computer classes to learn
about Microsoft Office and other software, utilizing knowledgeable volunteers
of all ages as well as staff members who have been appropriately trained.
Objective 1: The number of people attending classes will increase by 5% each year.
Objective 2: At least 90% of class attendees will indicate on a survey that their knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software has increased.
Goal 7: All residents of Eufaula Memorial Library’s
service area will have staff assistance to accomplish online tasks.
Objective 1: The number of people receiving ‘informal computer instruction’ will increase by 5% per year.
Objective 2: At least 90% of people who utilize this resource will indicate on a survey that the assistance received from staff members was very good or excellent.
Goal 8: All residents of Eufaula Memorial Library’s
service area will benefit from a remodeled or expanded facility.
Objective 1: Existing space will be reorganized to maximize space for computers and each year of the planning cycle, at least 75% of patrons surveyed will indicate they are pleased with the library’s arrangement.
Objective 2: Each year of the planning cycle, at least 85% of patrons who used the “mobile computer lab” will indicate on a survey that the classes met their expectations.
