The Friends of the Grove
Public Library has been founded to bring together those persons interested in promoting
the existence and usage of the Grove Public Library; to support and assist the local
library in the supply and maintenance of materials and in the furtherance of its programs.
As a Friend, you are
helping with library projects
and programs.

Grove Public Library Genealogy
Collection |
The Grove Public Library is known
for its impressive genealogical collection. The collection has holdings on many areas and
states of interest to researchers but emphasizes Delaware County, the nearby four-state
area, and Cherokees.
The general collection includes
extensive census records and indexes to include the U. S. census 1790 through 1820
complete, numerous complete state census records for various years, 1870 census index, all
Oklahoma census records with a soundex for Indian Territory and Oklahoma Territory 1900.
Other items of special note are: Indian-Pioneer History, all Delaware County newspaper
microfilm and some from surrounding areas, the LDS Family Search on CD-ROM, War of the
Rebellion: Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies.
The Cherokee collection includes a searchable CD-ROM of the Dawes Roll, and the Cherokee census cards and applications on microfilm. The collection includes nearly all Cherokee censuses and rolls and numerous books about the Cherokee.
The Delaware County Genealogical
Society, Inc. supports the genealogical collection and assists family researchers.
Researchers making queries are asked to put them in writing and mail or
